Where are most jobs for physicists located?

I'm kind of thinking that I might like to become a physicist. But I've always really wanted to live in a very urban area like in the middle of New York or Chicago. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that those aren't places where it's likely that there will be a lot of jobs for physicists. I kind of imagine most of those types of jobs being in more suburban areas but I don't really know. Right now I'm thinking that I'd like to become either a physicist or an economist. I'm not really sure which but right now I'd say I'm leaning towards becoming a physicist.
