Has anyone experienced ringing in their ears?

I am abit annoyed by the ringing in my ears, i think it is tinnitus, that means on verging on deafness. A world of deafness is not so bad, i quite like silence, But is anyone else experiencing this. Its alot more common nowadays cos of all the audible tech about.
