Soul murder... who's next?
Neural-reprinting is a neurological process whereby a focused electromagnetic current is focused on the cerebral cortex of a patient. The result is complete and irreversible amnesia of all things regarding the patients identity and personal life. You won't recognise your family, you won't recognise yourself in the mirror, you might even be suprised to discover that your black or caucasian even, you'll lose all personal likes and dislikes, attitudes, biases, personality attributes and religious beliefs. Although it's only ever used as a last resort if ever, a lot of neurologists are concerned that they are actually killing the person that undergoes this process, and understandably so. Now a non-atheistic scientist in Europe is quite a phenomenon in this day and age, so I was wondering what your opinion was regarding this procedure. Specifically how it figures into your understanding of the soul?
