Excel validation? stop saving the repetitive data?

Have you considered trying Microsoft Access? It is designed for data entry - and everything is saved once you enter the numbers. Similar to excel, you can customize the program (by writing modules) to do just about anything you want. Plus.. You can always import your pre-existing data from excel. Just a thought.
