"Boyfriend" keeping condoms in his truck.?

My bf and I broke up a few weeks ago because I needed space, but now we have decided to just simply date before we get back into a relationship, we were together for 3 years. Yesterday I saw an open box of condoms(we dont use condoms) in the back of his truck. I confronted him and he said they were , so it's not messy. I asked why he kept them in his truck, he said so his parents didn't find them. I do not believe him one bit. Doesn't it all seem a bit far fetched to you? Yes we werent together, but he got all pissy because I kissed a guy, and he said he didn't even think about other girls.
