1984 porsche 944 not getting gas?

I replaced the fuel pump thinking that was the problem.. but it still didnt get gas up to the engine. took the hose off the front and used a bleader.. The gas flows up to the front.. but there is no suction to take it into the engine or into the fuel sensor. im wondering if there is a suction or something that sucks the gas into it. Im totally lost and want the car for prom in a few days! Helpp!! thankss
